Welcome Back, Asbury Park!

Dear Asbury Park School District Families,

Welcome to a new school year—a new chapter filled with possibility, promise, and opportunity.

It is with tremendous pride and gratitude that I welcome our students, families, educators, and staff back to the Asbury Park School District. After 28 years of service in this district, I can say with confidence that Asbury Park is not simply where I have worked; it is a community that has shaped me, inspired me, and become an important part of who I am.

It is a true honor to serve as your Interim Superintendent of Schools.

As we begin this school year, our mission remains clear: to ensure that every child has the opportunity, support, and encouragement to reach their fullest potential. Our students deserve schools where they are known, respected, challenged, and celebrated for who they are and who they are becoming.

Education is more than what happens inside a classroom. It is about building confidence, discovering possibilities, nurturing dreams, and helping young people understand that their circumstances today do not define their possibilities for tomorrow.

And we cannot do this work alone.

Our greatest strength is our partnership. When families, educators, staff, administrators, and our community come together with a shared purpose, we create the conditions for our students to thrive. I invite you to continue being active partners in your child’s educational journey. Your voice matters. Your involvement matters. And most importantly, your children matter.

I am also delighted to welcome Superintendent Rashon Hasan to the Asbury Park School District family. I look forward to working alongside Superintendent Hasan and supporting his leadership as we continue to build upon the strengths of our district. I believe that when we honor our history while embracing new ideas and opportunities, we position our schools and our students for an even brighter future.

As we step into this new school year, let us do so with hope in our hearts, purpose in our work, and unwavering belief in our students.
