ACTING SUPERINTENDENT MESSAGE

Dear Asbury Park Staff, Families and Community,

I am honored to serve as Acting Superintendent of Schools for the Asbury Park School District.

For the past 11 years, I have had the privilege of serving this district as a principal and as Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and I bring with me over 30 years of experience in education. While my journey did not begin here, my commitment is here, fully, with the students, families, and staff of Asbury Park.

As a product of New York City public schools and the son of Dominican parents, I understand firsthand the power of education to change lives. I am proud to be bilingual in Spanish, and I value the rich cultural and linguistic diversity that defines our community. Many of our students are multilingual learners, and that is a strength we celebrate and support.

I also want to speak honestly about where we are as a district.

We are currently facing a significant financial challenge that requires immediate attention. Over the next several months, we will be working diligently to address this situation while continuing to support our schools and maintain stability for our students.

Every decision we make will be guided by one principle:

What is in the best interest of our students?

Our students remain at the center of everything we do. They deserve stability, opportunity, and a school system that supports their success.
