Rashon K. Hasan, Ed.S., is the Superintendent of Schools for the Asbury Park School District.
Mr. Hasan joins Asbury Park from Plainfield Public Schools, where he served as both Superintendent of Schools and School Business Administrator. That combination of instructional and fiscal leadership gives him a clear view of how every dollar a district spends connects to what happens in the classroom.
In Plainfield, Mr. Hasan led the work to stabilize district finances, building surplus and reserve funds that exceeded $20 million. He helped negotiate a groundbreaking collective bargaining agreement that improved working conditions and made Plainfield one of the highest-paying school districts in Union County. He also developed instructional frameworks to strengthen teaching and learning, and helped build and launch the district's esports program, creating new pathways for student engagement.
Mr. Hasan leads through Excellence By Design, an approach grounded in listening, collaboration, and accountability. He believes strong schools are built by pairing high expectations for every student with sound fiscal stewardship and meaningful investment in the people who serve children every day.
He holds an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree from Seton Hall University, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Florida Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Clark Atlanta University.
