Posted on 12/18/2019

TLAAMotivational Speaker and Life Coach Scott Chesney recently visited the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School to share powerful insights with students who participate in the Though Leaders Afterschool Academy, which fosters learning through STEAM-based programming.

Chesney, dubbed the “Commander in Charge,” has successfully navigated life with paralysis for nearly 33 years after waking up paralyzed as a result of a spinal stroke at age 15. He shared with middle-schoolers the importance of making positive choices and surrounding yourself with people who will help you attain your goals.

Students particularly enjoyed the genuine conversation and inspiring stories Chesney shared. In addition to being a speaker and life coach, Chesney is an Ambassador for the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation and an Ambassador for Kessler Foundation.

Thanks for providing motivation done the #TLAAWay!
