Dear Families,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year at Bradley Elementary School! My name is Jackie Philhower, and I am honored to serve as your Early Childhood Supervisor for the second year. I have proudly been part of the Asbury Park district for 26 years—17 years as a kindergarten teacher and 6 years as an instructional coach—bringing a wealth of experience and a deep passion for early childhood education.
At Bradley Elementary Preschool, we believe in nurturing every child through a student-led, play-based, and nature-infused learning environment that inspires curiosity and growth. As Maria Montessori wisely said, “The greatest gifts we can give our children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence.” This philosophy guides our approach every day.
Our highly qualified teachers and para-professionals use Creative Curriculum to support your child’s development, enriched by a strong district initiative: a universal screener for early literacy skills. Starting this year, all 4-year-olds will be screened to identify dyslexia early, allowing our skilled team to provide targeted support that builds a foundation for lifelong success.
We offer comprehensive services including speech, occupational, and physical therapies to ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive. Our open-door policy means you are always welcome to reach out to me or any member of our dedicated team. As a mother of three, I understand how important it is to have a trusted partnership between home and school.
To further support families, we offer monthly parent workshops, Saturday pop-up playdates to connect with other families, and pop-up story dates at the Asbury Park Library. These events are designed to make your journey with us joyful and memorable.
We are more than a school—we are a family. Together, with the best staff you will ever meet, we are excited to welcome your child into a year full of discovery, learning, and growth.
