Greetings!

Thank you for your interest in Early Childhood Education. The Asbury Park School District’s Early Childhood program spans from Preschool to 3rd Grade. The mission and vision of our Early Childhood program is to provide high-quality, authentic learning experiences that develop the whole child in warm, safe learning environments where students feel comfortable taking risks and families are always welcome.

Our Preschool Program is offered – at no cost – to all Asbury Park families. Students must be three-years-old by October 1st of the current school year to enroll. We are proud to host 25 preschool classrooms throughout the district’s 2 elementary schools and 3 community providers. Kindergarten through 3rd grade programs are housed in each of the district’s 2 elementary schools and provide a thorough and comprehensive learning continuum for all students.

The Early Childhood Department strives to continuously create and sustain a positive program that grows each child’s independence and love for learning. Instructional programming is aligned with best practice and evokes development of 21st-century skills and college and career readiness in a developmentally-appropriate manner. Through a strong partnership with our families and community partners, we can work together to build a strong foundation for each child’s future success.

Please feel free to contact us at the Dorothy L. McNish Parent Center (300 Prospect Avenue) for further information regarding our Early Childhood programs.
