A Message from Our
Superintendent

Dr. RaShawn Adams

Asbury Park Parents, Students, Staff and Community:

Since July 1, it has been my honor and privilege to commit myself to the tremendous responsibility as the Acting Superintendent of Schools for Asbury Park. I am just as excited on Oct. 28 to be unanimously approved by the Asbury Park Board of Education as the permanent Superintendent of Schools. I want you to know that I couldn’t be more excited to be here and have the opportunity to work with all of you. I have been patient, but also anxious to get started with moving the district forward.

Since I was appointed in July, I have been listening to and engaging with the community to ascertain important expectations that they have for our students. I have conducted numerous “Listening and Learning” sessions, but more importantly have been very active and visible in our schools weekly.

I continue to look forward to working collaboratively with the school board, staff, parents and community to building an exceptional educational program while forging innovative partnerships to enhance opportunities for students. I’m committed to ensuring that all students have the ability to reach their full potential while becoming productive members of an ever-changing global society. I truly believe that the Asbury Park School District is poised for unprecedented positive growth, and I am thrilled that I will be able to be an integral part of the process.

As we continue this current school year together, we all know that there are challenges that lie ahead. Be assured that we will continue to be as proactive as possible to ensure the safety and security of everyone. We are all working hard to maintain a safe and productive space for remainder of the school year.

Thank you for entrusting our staff with your most precious gift, your children.
